June 16, 202514 Day Kenya and Tanzania Safari Adventure
Experience the very best of East Africa with this unforgettable 14-day safari across Kenya and Tanzania. From the iconic plains of the Masai Mara and Serengeti to the flamingo-covered shores of Lake Nakuru, tranquil boat rides on Lake Naivasha, and breathtaking landscapes of the Ngorongoro Crater, this journey is packed with wildlife, culture, and natural beauty. Wind down your adventure through Lake Manyara and Tarangire National Parks before departing through Kilimanjaro.
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya
Upon arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you’ll be warmly received by a Trek Africa Expeditions representative who will assist with your hotel transfer. After settling in, enjoy a relaxed afternoon visit to the Giraffe Centre for up-close encounters with the endangered Rothschild giraffes.
Day 2: Nairobi to Lake Naivasha (Approx. 2 hrs drive)
After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha. Upon arrival, enjoy a boat ride across the lake, surrounded by birdlife and grazing hippos. Optional visit to Crescent Island Game Sanctuary offers a unique walking safari among giraffes, zebras, and antelopes.
Dinner and overnight in Naivasha.
Day 3: Lake Naivasha to Lake Nakuru National Park (Approx. 2 hrs)
Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, home to thousands of flamingos and a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos. Expect sightings of buffalo, zebras, giraffes, and, with luck, the elusive leopard. Enjoy game drives with panoramic views of the Rift Valley.
Overnight stay near Lake Nakuru.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara (Approx. 5+ hrs)
Head to the iconic Masai Mara Game Reserve, the northern extension of the Serengeti ecosystem. This is Big Five country—lions, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and buffalo—and also the site of the famed Great Migration.
After lunch at your camp, embark on an afternoon game drive before returning for dinner and storytelling around the campfire.
Day 5: Full-Day Safari in Masai Mara
Optional: Hot Air Balloon Safari at dawn (USD 450/person) with champagne breakfast in the bush.
Spend the day exploring the rich wildlife of the Masai Mara. Look out for lion prides, cheetahs on the hunt, elephants, and vibrant birdlife. Game viewing here is among the best in the world.
All meals included.
Day 6: Masai Mara to Serengeti National Park (Via Isebania Border)
After breakfast, drive toward the Kenya–Tanzania border at Isebania, then cross into Tanzania and head toward the Eastern Serengeti. Enjoy scenic en-route game viewing.
Overnight in the Eastern Serengeti.
Day 7–8: Wildlife Encounters in Serengeti National Park
Spend two full days exploring the legendary Serengeti, home to endless plains, large predator populations, and spectacular wildlife interactions. Morning and evening game drives give you the best chances for sightings.
All meals and overnight at your safari lodge or camp.
Day 9: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, enjoy an en-route game drive as you leave the Serengeti and make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive in time for lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing with views of the crater.
Dinner and overnight at your Ngorongoro lodge.
Day 10: Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater
Descend 600 meters to explore the crater floor—one of Africa’s best places for wildlife viewing. Spot lions, hyenas, elephants, hippos, and possibly the rare black rhino. Enjoy a picnic lunch by a hippo pool before returning to the lodge.
Overnight at Ngorongoro.
Day 11: Ngorongoro to Lake Manyara National Park
Drive to Lake Manyara for lunch, followed by a game drive. Known for its tree-climbing lions and large troops of baboons, this compact park offers diverse landscapes and wildlife.
Dinner and overnight at your Manyara accommodation.
Day 12: Lake Manyara to Tarangire National Park
After breakfast, drive to Tarangire, a park known for its large elephant herds and ancient baobab trees. Enjoy an afternoon game drive before settling in at your lodge.
Dinner and overnight at Tarangire.
Day 13: Full Day Safari in Tarangire
Spend the day exploring Tarangire. With its rolling hills, river valleys, and seasonal swamps, it offers fantastic wildlife viewing, particularly during the dry season.
Meals and overnight stay at Tarangire.
Day 14: Departure from Arusha / Kilimanjaro Airport
After breakfast, transfer to Kilimanjaro International Airport with a packed lunch (or opt for a hot lunch in Arusha if time allows).
