Eligibility for East African Resident Gorilla Permits
East African residents are entitled to a discounted price for gorilla permits, which can make your trip more affordable. To qualify for this special rate, you must be a resident of one of the following East African countries: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, or Burundi. You also need to hold a work permit to be considered a foreign resident in any of these countries. This status allows you to access the East African resident rate when purchasing your gorilla permit.
East African Resident Gorilla Permit Pricing
The current price for a gorilla trekking permit for East African residents is UGX 300,000. If you’re a foreign resident living and working in East Africa, the price is USD 700 per person per trek. The savings can be put toward other costs, such as accommodation, meals, and transportation during your trek.
