Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park – Full Day Game Drive
Your guide will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha after an early breakfast. Drive south through open plains toward Tarangire National Park, famous for its vast elephant population and giant baobab trees. During the dry season, the park becomes a wildlife hotspot as animals gather around the Tarangire River.
Enjoy a full-day game drive in this relatively uncrowded park, spotting elephants, giraffes, buffaloes, zebras, and possibly lions or leopards. Over 300 bird species are recorded here, making it a birder’s paradise as well.
Accommodation: Twiga Campsite (or similar)
Meals: Lunch, Dinner
Day 2: Ngorongoro Crater – Big Five Safari
After breakfast, head west toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, one of Africa’s most iconic safari destinations. Descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the “Eighth Wonder of the World.”
This ancient volcanic caldera is home to a high concentration of wildlife, including the Big Five—lion, leopard, black rhino, elephant, and buffalo. You’ll also spot wildebeest, zebras, warthogs, hyenas, and abundant birdlife around Lake Magadi inside the crater.
Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic spot before continuing your game drive. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and head to nearby Mto wa Mbu for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Lake Manyara National Park – Return to Arusha
Today’s adventure takes you to Lake Manyara National Park, a small but diverse park tucked between the Great Rift Valley escarpment and the lake itself. The park is known for its lush groundwater forest, open plains, and the shimmering lake that attracts thousands of flamingos.
Enjoy a morning and early afternoon game drive, looking for elephants, hippos, giraffes, and the park’s famous tree-climbing lions. After lunch and one last look at the wildlife, drive back to Arusha where your 3-day Tanzania safari ends.
