Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pickup from Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your guide will meet you in Kigali, either at the airport or your hotel. After a short briefing, you’ll begin the scenic drive to southwestern Uganda, crossing the border at either Cyanika or Katuna, depending on the gorilla sector you’re visiting.
As you journey through the rolling hills of Rwanda and into the lush Kigezi Highlands of Uganda, you’ll enjoy stunning views of terraced landscapes, misty valleys, and rural villages. Arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in time to check into your lodge and relax for the evening.
Drive Time: 4 to 5 hours

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Rise early and enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading to the park headquarters for your gorilla trekking briefing. Here, you’ll be assigned to a gorilla family based on your fitness level and group size. Trained park rangers will share important information on the rules of gorilla trekking and what to expect during the trek.
Once you begin the trek into the dense forest, the excitement builds with every step. Depending on the location of your assigned gorilla group, the hike can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. The terrain may be challenging, but the reward is beyond compare—spending one magical hour in the presence of wild mountain gorillas.
You’ll be able to observe their social interactions, take photos (without flash), and simply be in awe of these incredible creatures in their natural habitat. After the trek, return to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla tracking certificate, a token of an unforgettable experience.
Later, return to your lodge to rest and enjoy a warm meal after a truly life-changing day.

Day 3: Transfer Back to Kigali for Departure
After breakfast, begin the return drive to Kigali, enjoying one last look at the scenic landscapes of Uganda and Rwanda. Depending on your flight time, you may have the opportunity for a brief city tour in Kigali or a visit to local craft markets for souvenirs.
Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport for your onward flight, marking the end of your 3-day gorilla safari in Uganda.
