Day 1: Pick Up from Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Your safari adventure begins when our professional guide picks you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport. From here, you’ll drive across the Rwanda-Uganda border at either Cyanika or Katuna, depending on the sector of Bwindi you’ll be visiting.
The drive through the Kigezi Highlands is a scenic delight, with views of the rolling hills and lush valleys stretching as far as the eye can see. Arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you’ll check into your lodge for the evening. Relax and enjoy a delicious dinner as you prepare for the excitement of the next day’s trek.

Day 2: First Gorilla Trekking Experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, you’ll depart for Bwindi’s park headquarters where you’ll receive an important briefing on gorilla trekking etiquette. You’ll then be assigned to one of the park’s gorilla families, and your trek will begin! The hike through the dense jungle is both thrilling and physically demanding, but it’s all worth it when you finally come face to face with these incredible primates.
You’ll spend a memorable one hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat, taking photographs and absorbing the peaceful atmosphere. After your first encounter, head back to the park headquarters to receive your gorilla trekking certificate as a memento of your adventure.
Return to your lodge for some well-deserved rest and dinner.

Day 3: Second Optional Gorilla Trek or Gorilla Habituation Experience
Today, you have the exciting option of going on a second gorilla trek or choosing a more immersive experience with the Gorilla Habituation Experience.

Second Gorilla Trekking: If you choose to go on a second trek, you’ll head out early again with your packed lunch and proceed to the park headquarters for another briefing. The second trek is an opportunity to explore more of the forest and encounter different gorilla groups, deepening your connection with these endangered primates.

Gorilla Habituation Experience: This experience offers you four hours with the gorillas, compared to the usual one hour. During this time, you can observe the gorillas up close, see how researchers are helping to habituate them to human presence, and perhaps even get involved in some of the work, like collecting samples or naming new gorilla family members.
Alternatively, you can take part in other activities, such as a community walk with the Batwa people or a nature walk around the forest, immersing yourself in the culture and landscape of Bwindi.
