In comparison to the other three gorilla regions, Rushaga boasts the largest number of habituated gorilla families.
The Rushaga region is home to about 9 gorilla families available for trekking, including Bikingi, Bweza, Mishaya, Busingye, Kahungye, Nshongi, Rwingi, Kutu, and Mucunguzi. This abundance translates to approximately 72 gorilla permits available for booking in this region alone. Each gorilla permit is priced at $600, with a scheduled price change to $700 by July 1, 2020. Notably, Kutu gorilla family is the focal point for gorilla habituation experiences in this region.
