Safari Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival at Entebbe International Airport
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a friendly Trek Africa Expeditions representative will greet you. Relax and unwind at the Guest House in Entebbe, overnight at Airport Link Guest House.
Day 2 – Transfer to Fort Portal Town
After breakfast, reunite with your driver-guide and journey to Fort Portal. Renowned for its tea-growing areas and nestled at the base of the Rwenzori Mountains, Fort Portal offers captivating scenery during the 50KM drive through villages and countryside.
Overnight at Ruwenzori View Guest House.
Day 3 – Cycling Through the Crater Lakes – Queen Elizabeth National Park (35-62KM)
Embark on a cycling adventure through the mesmerizing crater lakes, immersing yourself in the breathtaking scenery. Enjoy lunch by one of the craters and continue to the main road. Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park with stops at the Equator for photography.
Overnight at Bush Lodge in tents.
Day 4 – Cycling Safari in Queen Elizabeth – Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Experience a spectacular day cycling through Queen Elizabeth National Park. Ride through the savannah, spotting wildlife like waterbucks, buffalos, and elephants. After lunch, enjoy a boat safari on the Kazinga Channel, witnessing diverse wildlife and bird species.
Return to Bush Lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 5 – Drive to Buhoma Town
After breakfast, embark on a 3-4 hours’ drive to Buhoma town, transitioning from flat savannah to the lush rainforest. Enjoy lunch upon arrival and explore local communities and projects in the afternoon.
Overnight at Ride 4 a Woman lodge.
Day 6 – Gorilla Trekking in Buhoma Region
Embark on an extraordinary day of gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Following a briefing at the park headquarters, trek into the dense rainforest to encounter mountain gorillas. Capture precious moments with these majestic creatures and return to Ride 4 a Woman for an overnight stay.
Day 7 – Riding the Monkey Trail – (56KM)
Start a challenging ride along the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, navigating small tracks through rural areas and wide dirt roads through the forest. Marvel at the scenery and possibly encounter monkeys.
Overnight at Broad Bill Tented Camp.
Day 8 – Riding from Ruhija – Lake Bunyonyi – (39KM)
Cycle along Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, descending towards civilization. Tackle hills before reaching Lake Bunyonyi, witnessing terraced fields reminiscent of the Switzerland of Africa.
Lunch and overnight at Birdnest Resort.
Day 9 – Drive to Lake Mburo National Park – Evening Game Drive
Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park after breakfast. Enjoy lunch at the park lodge and embark on an evening game drive, spotting late grazers. Prepare for cycling the next morning.
Overnight at Rwakobo Rock.
Day 10 – Cycling Safari in Lake Mburo National Park – Afternoon Boat Safari on the Lake
Embark on a morning cycling safari along Lake Mburo National Park’s border, witnessing wildlife grazing. Return for lunch and experience a 2-hour boat safari on Lake Mburo, encountering water animals and birds.
Overnight at Rwakobo Rock.
Day 11 – Transfer Back to Entebbe for Your International Flight Out
Embark on a 4-hour drive to Entebbe, considering flights departing after 4 pm for your onward journey.
