This migration starts in October and millions of gazers cross from the Mara river to Kirawira River in search for the greener grasses. This takes them 6 months to cross over back to Masai Mara National Park in April during the rains. Its also during the months of January to March that most of the wildebeest give birth. The beasts flood the south part with new born’s on the grass plains and when the rains stop, they transfer back to Masai Mara and the second event happens in May/June.

Tourists enjoy watching them feed on fresh green grass, play and interact with one another. They stay in this place for four months that is January to March where most wildebeests new borns are sighted flooding the plains.

In may the movement starts to the western part of the park to the north in search for green grasses again but the migration is halted in the Grumeti river. The wildebeests collect in this place called the western corridor as their numbers increase before crossing over.
