Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Bujumbura (Burundi) to Bukavu (Congo)

Your adventure begins with a pickup in Bujumbura. Before crossing into Congo, enjoy a cultural tour that includes a performance by the Royal Drummers of Burundi—a powerful display of heritage and rhythm. After the visit, you’ll continue the scenic drive through the Ruzizi border and into the Democratic Republic of Congo, arriving in the lakeside town of Bukavu by evening.
Drive time: 6–7 hours
Overnight: Nediva Hotel, Bukavu

Day 2: Lowland Gorilla Trekking in Kahuzi-Biega National Park

After an early breakfast, you’ll head into Kahuzi-Biega National Park for an unforgettable trek to see the Eastern Lowland Gorillas—found only in this part of the world. These gorillas are larger than their mountain relatives and live in larger family groups. The trek typically lasts 1–4 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location, and offers a deeply personal wildlife encounter. Spend a magical hour with these gentle giants before heading back to your hotel in Bukavu to relax.
Overnight: Nediva Hotel, Bukavu

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali (Rwanda) or Return to Bujumbura (Burundi)
