Itinerary

Day One: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park

Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, the Trek Africa Expeditions driver/guide welcomes you to Rwanda. Explore Kigali city, visiting the Crafts village, local market, and the Genocide memorial site based on your arrival time. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading northwest to cross into Uganda and reach Bwindi Forest National Park by evening.

Day Two: Mountain Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

Commence your day with a delicious breakfast amidst the enchanting atmosphere of Bwindi Forest. Following a ranger guide briefing, embark on an unforgettable Mountain Gorilla tracking adventure. Spend up to an hour with these majestic creatures, absorbing the beauty of their natural habitat. After the trek, relax at the lodge.

Day Three: Transfer to Gisenyi town, Rwanda

Enjoy breakfast in the misty Bwindi Forest, relishing the scenic views. Depart early for the journey back to Rwanda. Admire the terraced hills of Kisoro town, the lush rice gardens in Rwanda, and the captivating Bamboo stretch. Arrive in Gisenyi town in the late afternoon.

Day Four: Mount Nyiragongo Hiking Adventure

Embark on a thrilling adventure with a transfer to Kibati patrol post, the starting point for the Nyiragongo hiking activity. Equipped with essentials like a rain jacket, thick clothes, torch, and water, embark on a 4-6 hour hike to the summit. Witness the mesmerizing large lava lake atop the active Nyiragongo volcano. Meals and overnight stay at Nyiragongo summit shelters on the caldera rim.

Day Five: Transfer from Nyiragongo to Gisenyi town

Wake up early for the journey back to Kibati and then to Gisenyi town. Depending on the time, enjoy lunch en-route or at your Gisenyi lodge (Lake Kivu Serana Hotel, Paradis Malahide, Gorillas Lake Kivu, or Palm Garden). Relax before heading back home.

Day Six: Transfer to Kigali

Savor a delightful breakfast and check out. Proceed to Kigali, where a brief city tour may be arranged based on your flight time. Conclude your adventure with a drop-off at the airport or your designated location.
