Upon arrival at Leon Mba International Airport in Libreville, you’ll be warmly greeted by our team. After completing immigration procedures, you’ll be transferred to the Radisson Blu Okoume Palace Hotel for check-in. Enjoy a relaxing evening with dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel.
Catch an early flight from Libreville to Port Gentil. From there, a 4WD vehicle will take you on a scenic 4-hour drive to Loango National Park via Liambissi. Arriving around midday, if time permits, you’ll embark on a forest walk for a preliminary game drive. Spend the night at Ndola Lodge.
After breakfast, journey by powered canoe to the Yatouga Research Camp, the gateway to an unforgettable gorilla safari. Yatouga Forest is home to a significant number of Western Lowland Gorillas, with a habituated group offering a 95% chance of sighting. The trek usually lasts between 45 minutes to 1.5 hours. After observing these majestic creatures, return to the camp for refreshments. In the afternoon, continue by canoe to Akaka Forest, a remote part of the park known for its pristine rainforest. Although wildlife sightings might be less frequent in the wet season, you might spot small mammals and various bird species. Return to Ndola Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Start the day with a game drive in Loango National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife including Dwarf Buffaloes, Forest Elephants, and Western Lowland Gorillas. After a morning of exploration, return to Ndola Lodge for lunch. Then, transfer to Louri Wilderness Camp, located in a different part of the park. Depending on your choice of transportation—by boat, road, or a combination of both—you’ll reach the camp and enjoy an immersive safari experience. Overnight at Louri Wilderness Camp.
Spend the day exploring the savannahs around Louri, known for its incredible wildlife and the unique phenomenon of “surfing hippos.” Louri Wilderness Camp offers a tranquil retreat with stunning views of the Louri Lagoon. Enjoy a day of wildlife sightings and return to Ndola Lodge for the night.
Enjoy a final morning exploration of Loango National Park, with options for a forest hike or game drive. After lunch, travel back to Port Gentil via Liambissi. From Port Gentil, take a domestic flight to Libreville. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred back to the Radisson Blu Okoume Palace Hotel for your final night.
On Day 7, we depart from the hotel at 8:00 AM and head to Michel Marina. From there, we’ll board a boat for a scenic 30-minute transfer to La Baie des Tortues Luth, a luxurious resort nestled within Pongara National Park. This exclusive retreat offers a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
At La Baie des Tortues Luth, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the park’s diverse wildlife on a thrilling buggy bike game drive. Expect to encounter Dwarf Buffaloes, Forest Elephants, various antelopes, and a variety of bird species. The resort also provides a range of leisure activities, allowing you to enjoy the pristine beach and lush surroundings.
In the afternoon, you’ll visit local fishing communities, gaining insight into their traditional practices and way of life. This cultural experience includes hands-on fishing activities and interactions with the locals. By 4:00 PM, we’ll return by boat to Libreville, arriving in approximately 20 minutes. From the pier, you’ll be transferred back to the hotel for dinner and later to the airport for your evening flight.
