The Batwa Trail: A Unique Cultural Experience in Mgahinga National Park

How to Reach Mgahinga National Park: Travel Options and Tips
Mgahinga National Park, a natural paradise in Uganda, can be accessed via two road trip options or by flying into Kisoro. The most convenient and comfortable way to get to the park is by landing in Kigali, Rwanda and driving for 4-5 hours through the Chanika border. This route is the shortest, and visitors will appreciate the smooth journey to Mgahinga National Park. However, if you choose to fly into Rwanda, you must comply with visa and border crossing regulations for both Uganda and Rwanda.
Alternatively, visitors can access Mgahinga National Park from Entebbe International Airport, the main entry point for Uganda. Travelers who arrive in Entebbe can take a long 8-10 hour drive past the equator, Mbarara, Kabale and onward to Kisoro town, then to the park headquarters.
For those who do not prefer long-distance driving, flying from Entebbe to Kisoro Airstrip is a viable option. Upon landing, you can take a road transfer to the park headquarters, where you can then begin your Mgahinga National Park adventure.
