Safari Itinerary:
Day 1 – Pick up from Kayanza Haut Border and Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Upon clearing immigration at the Kayanza-Haut border, our guide will extend a warm welcome into Rwanda. Following a brief safari briefing, embark on a scenic drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, providing a delightful overnight stop en route to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 2 – Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Following a hearty breakfast, commence the journey via the Kivu belt and Volcanoes National Park, crossing from Rwanda to Uganda through the Cyanika border post. Arriving at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, check-in, savor dinner, and settle in for the night.
Day 3 – Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Awaken to the lush surroundings, enjoying a delightful breakfast before our guide transfers you to the park headquarters. A captivating gorilla briefing by park rangers precedes the trek into Bwindi’s rainforest. Upon locating the Mountain gorillas, spend an enchanting hour observing, photographing, and immersing yourself in their world. Return to the lodge for well-deserved relaxation.
Day 4 – Drive to Lake Bunyonyi
Bid farewell to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park after breakfast and journey to the picturesque Lake Bunyonyi. Arrive in time for lunch and relish a leisurely afternoon, optionally engaging in activities offered by the lodge.
Day 5 – Day at Leisure in Lake Bunyonyi
Savor a leisurely morning and embark on an enchanting sundowner cruise on Lake Bunyonyi in the evening. Explore historical islands, witness local fishermen, marvel at beautiful birds, and bask in the lake’s sunset glory before returning to the lodge for dinner.
Day 6 – Drive to Kigali
Post-breakfast, drive to Katuna border post, complete immigration formalities, and continue the journey to Kigali, Rwanda’s capital. Explore the Kigali Genocide Memorial before transferring to your lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 7 – Drive Back to Burundi
After a morning repast, bid adieu to the lodge and embark on the return journey to Burundi via Muhanga and Butare. Upon reaching the Kayanza Haut border post, our guide will assist with immigration clearance, concluding the captivating safari.
