Embark on an extraordinary journey as we extend a warm welcome to Uganda, often referred to as the “Pearl of Africa.” This incredible land is not only teeming with captivating natural beauty but is also home to the critically endangered mountain gorillas. These majestic creatures find refuge in both Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
Our Mgahinga Gorilla Fly-In Safaris promise an unforgettable expedition to the heart of Uganda’s mountainous southwestern region. Here, in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, you’ll have the rare privilege of tracking the elusive Mountain Gorillas. This adventure encompasses a thrilling trek through Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, where you’ll encounter not only the Mountain Gorillas but also embark on a hike up Mount Sabinyo, standing tall at an elevation of 3,645 meters—an imposing dormant volcano. Moreover, you’ll have the unique opportunity to observe another endangered species, the Golden Monkey, in its natural habitat within the bamboo forest.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park boasts one of the most diverse ecosystems in Africa, serving as a sanctuary for some of the world’s most endangered apes—the Mountain Gorillas. With an estimated global population of just about 1,080 individuals, nearly half of these remarkable creatures call Uganda their home. The remaining populations can be found in the neighboring Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda and the Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
