Best time to visit Kyambura Gorge

The most suitable time to visit Kyambura Game Reserve is during the dry season, which falls between December and February and then again from late June to October. In addition, visiting during the dry season may increase your chances of seeing more wildlife, as they tend to congregate around watering holes in search of water. How to get to Kyambura Gorge

By Road

Kyambura Game Reserve is located within Queen Elizabeth National Park, approximately 30 km from the park headquarters. The reserve can be accessed by both road and air. There are two main routes to choose from when driving from Kampala to Kyambura Game Reserve, both of which take around 6-7 hours: one route passes through Msaka and Mbarara, while the other passes through Fort Portal.

By Air

Alternatively, visitors can fly to the reserve, with daily flights available from Kajjansi Airfield near Kampala and Entebbe International Airport to the Mweya and Kasese airstrips in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The flight takes about an hour and 15 minutes. If you are planning to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park or Semuliki National Park after your time in Kyambura, you can arrange for a direct flight from the Mweya Airstrip.
