Lastly, the trek through Bwindi can be physically demanding, with steep, slippery, and uneven terrain that may be challenging for younger trekkers.

Gorilla Trekking Policies for Children and Minors

If you have a child aged 15 or older, they are subject to the same permit fees as adults. Typically, children are grouped with their families during the trek to ensure proper supervision and care. However, if a child is under 15, they will not be allowed to trek, even with a secured permit. Instead, they can accompany their parents to the park and remain at the lodge or with the driver-guide while the adults are trekking. Children can still enjoy other activities such as nature walks and community visits.
