Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Kampala/Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Your adventure begins with a scenic road trip to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. After being picked up from Entebbe International Airport or your hotel in Kampala/Entebbe, your guide will drive you southwest through lush countryside, rolling hills, and rural villages.
Along the way, you’ll stop at the Uganda Equator for photos and a quick demonstration of how the Earth’s magnetic forces behave differently in each hemisphere. After a relaxed lunch en route, continue your journey into the misty highlands of Bwindi.

Day 2: Mountain Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers. You’ll be assigned a gorilla family group and guided deep into the forest for a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with endangered mountain gorillas.
The trek may take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorillas’ location, but the reward is well worth it. Once you find them, you’ll spend up to one hour observing these gentle giants in their natural setting—watching them feed, play, and interact just meters away.
Return to the lodge for lunch and a relaxed afternoon.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park – Evening Game Drive
After breakfast, set off for Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s most biodiverse parks and home to elephants, lions, buffaloes, and more. The drive takes you through scenic landscapes and local villages.
Arrive in time for check-in at your lodge, followed by a sunset game drive in the Kasenyi plains, where you may spot Uganda kobs, warthogs, hyenas, and perhaps even a leopard preparing for the hunt.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive & Boat Safari on Kazinga Channel
Wake up early for a morning game drive in Kasenyi Sector, known for its high concentration of wildlife. Keep your eyes peeled for lions, elephants, buffaloes, and leopards as they roam the open savannah.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel, a natural waterway that links Lake Edward and Lake George. This cruise is a safari highlight, offering close-up views of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and hundreds of birds along the shores.

Day 5: Visit Katwe Salt Lake & Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
After a relaxed breakfast, either enjoy a short game drive or visit Katwe Salt Lake, where locals harvest salt using centuries-old methods. Learn about this unique cultural and economic activity before continuing your journey north to Kibale Forest National Park.
En route, stop for lunch and later take a nature walk through the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-based conservation area known for its rich biodiversity, especially monkeys and birds.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest
Today, you’ll head into Kibale Forest, also known as the “Primate Capital of East Africa,” for an unforgettable chimpanzee tracking experience. After a safety briefing at the park headquarters, venture into the forest with your guides to locate one of the habituated chimpanzee families.
While chimpanzees are the stars of the day, Kibale is also home to 13 other primate species, including red-tailed monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, and grey-cheeked mangabeys. Watch, photograph, and learn about these fascinating creatures in their natural environment.

Day 7: Return to Kampala or Entebbe – End of Tour
