Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe – Welcome to the Pearl of Africa
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you’ll be warmly welcomed by a representative from Trek Africa Expeditions. After a brief introduction, you’ll transfer to your guest house where you can relax after your journey. Depending on your arrival time, you may opt for a short visit to the Entebbe Botanical Gardens—a peaceful haven for birdlife such as the African Grey Parrot and Palm-nut Vulture—or take a boat ride to Ngamba Island to see rescued chimpanzees. You may also enjoy light birding at the nearby Uganda Wildlife Education Center.

Day 2: Birding at Mabamba Swamp – Seek the Shoebill
After an early breakfast, set off for Mabamba Wetland, located west of Entebbe on the shores of Lake Victoria. This RAMSAR site is among the best places in the world to spot the elusive Shoebill Stork in its natural habitat. Glide silently through the papyrus swamp in a traditional canoe, keeping your eyes open for other remarkable wetland birds such as the Blue-breasted Bee-eater, White-winged Warbler, African Jacana, and Long-toed Lapwing. Day 4: Birding and Boat Safari in Lake Mburo National Park
